Northeast Passage is a documentary about the dynamics of housing issues in Boise, an inner-city neighborhood in Northeast Portland. In addition to primary documents that help to tell the story of Boise, this website includes three pages of text that strive to uncover the complexity of the social issues facing the neighborhood.

The first page places Boise in a historical context by providing background information on the Albina area, of which the Boise neighborhood is a part.

The second page defines "gentrification," a process that is underway in the community.

The third page describes the relationship between the Community Development Corporations (CDCs) and gentrification in the Boise neighborhood, and highlights some of the conflict that emerged between the CDCs and some of the newer homeowners in the neighborhood.
