CCRH Presents: Northeast Passage
Below are graphs that demonstrate the demographic changes to the Boise area from 1990 to 2000. They illustrate the changes in race distribution, home ownership, median income, and percentage below poverty level. They were constructed from 1990 and 2000 census data. The last two items are maps that show the changes within the Albina community as a whole with regard to the number of people of color and the number of poor households between 1990 and 1996.
A Note on sources: All information from the year 1990 came from the City of Portland Office of Neighborhood Associations. Year 2000 figures regarding race and home ownership were derived from portlandmaps.com, a Web site of the City of Portland. Figures regarding medium income and poverty levels were given to use by Erik Kang at the Office of Neighborhood Involvement, City of Portland.
Both maps produced for the Oregon Environmental Council, 1999
